Ken Mahoney
Ken graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a subsidiary in Political Science. Ken received numerous academic scholarships and distinguished recognitions including the Father Charles R. McDonald Memorial Medical Award for Highest Standing in Philosophy in his graduating year. Ken is a past member of the Nova Scotia Barrister Society and is currently a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ken began his career at Walker Dunlop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he practised in the areas of personal injury, civil appeals and criminal defence. Ken returned to Newfoundland in 2002 and began practicing with Collins & Associates, gaining a broad experience focusing on criminal defence and personal injury law.
Ken has argued cases at all levels of Court, including appearances at the Supreme Court of Canada. Ken began his own practice in April 2006, specializing in criminal defence and constitutional law and continued as a solo practitioner until 2009. He joined Bristow Moyse Lawyers as an Associate in January 2010 and is practicing primarily in areas of criminal law, personal injury and medical malpractice.
